Cheetah Robot Sets Land Speed Record for Legged Robots

DARPA's fast land robot called Cheetah has set a new land speed record for legged robots. Cheetah reached speeds of 18 miles per hour during a speed test. The noisy robot was created by Boston Dynamics. The previous record was 13.1 miles per hour. Take a look:

Forbes reports that Boston Dynamics' goal was to hit 20 mph by late 2012 and eventually take the Cheetah bot into the field for even faster speeds.
