Theoretical Physicist Dr. Michio Kaku Says If Aliens Invade It Will Be Like Bambi Vs Godzilla

Theoretical Physicist Dr. Michio Kaku is a consultant for a new Discovery Curiosity episode about the possibility of an alien invasion. He talked to MSNBC about what would happen if aliens invaded Earth. Dr. Kaku does not foresee a friendly alien encounter. He thinks aliens would either not bother with us or easily overwhelm us.

Dr. Kaku says Hollywood gets it all wrong when it comes to alien invasions. He says if aliens do invade our planet it will be like Bambi vs Godzilla. He says the alien invaders could have weapons we haven't even conceived of. Kaku also thinks the alien invaders would overwhelm us in the opening shot. Take a look:

In another interview, Dr. Kaku talks about aliens just paving over us like a developer getting rid of a forest area for a project. He also says in the Big Think interview that we should not be advertising our existing to aliens that may be thousands or millions of years more advanced than we are because "we do not know their intentions." This seems wise. He does think the aliens will probably be peaceful but says "we cannot take the chance."

Another potential problems with aliens is that we could just be in their way. Dr. Kaku says, "We could be in the way of a very advanced civilization that simply is not evil but simply views us as we would view squirrels and deer in the forest." This scenario was used in Douglas Adams' The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy when the Earth was destroyed by the Vogons to make way for a hyperspace bypass.
