Korean Researchers Building Car-Sized Crab Robots to Explore Ocean Floor

Korean researchers are developing car-sized crab robots to explore the ocean floor. Researchers from the Korean Institute of Ocean Science and Technology (KIOST) have been building a prototype of the giant crab robot.

The first video shows an animation of what KIOST hopes the completed crab robot will be able to do. The second video shows what the crab robot can do so far. The robot is called Crabster. Gizmag reports that Crabsters' six legs contain a total of 30 joints. Crabster can also pick up objects and store them in a front compartment. Take a look:
