NBA Star LeBron James Catches Swine Flu

Posted on October 15, 2009

The Cleveland Plain Dealer reports that NBA star LeBron James and two other players, Darnell Jackson and Coby Karl, have contracted an Influenza A virus. H1N1 swine flu is primarily the only Influenza A flu virus that is going around right now so it is is highly likely the players have swine flu.

LeBron James, Darnell Jackson and Coby Karl have all tested positive for Influenza A, according to Cleveland Cavaliers spokesman Tad Carper, and the team will treat them as if they have H1N1.

H1N1 is a strain of Influenza A. Carper said this afternoon that the Cavaliers' entire traveling party would be treated with medication in an effort to prevent spread of the virus.

The H1N1 swine flu virus is hitting young people the hardest so it is no surprise that athletes and young celebrities are coming down with it. The H1N1 vaccine is only just starting to become available and will probably be tough to get for most people until November at the earliest.
