Mercedes-Benz Unveils Autonomous Future Bus

Mercedes-Benz is one of many automotive companies working on self-driving vehicles. They recently unveiled a self-driving bus called Future Bus. The slick looking city bus is pictured above.

Mashable reports that the bus recently drove through Amsterdam on a 12-mile route. The bus uses Mercedes' autonomous driving system called CityPilot. Riders inside the bus can find a lounge area where they can charge smartphones and tablets. Large displays will provide local information and maps.

The Verge reports that the bus also features designer seating (pictured below). There don't seem to be any seat belts for the passengers. The bus travels at top speeds of 43 mph. The Verge says the bus also collects data for the city as it travels. It can report road problems like the potholes to the city, which the city will then eventually get around to repairing.
