Video: Peregrine Falcon Achieves Speed of 183 Mph in Recorded Dive

A Peregrine falcon achieved a speed of 183 mph in a dive recorded on video.

Commercial pilot Ken Franklin raises and studies falcons. Franklin released a Peregrine falcon, named Frightful, from an airplane at an altitude of 15,000 feet and had it chase a lure. Frightful's peak speed during his dive was 183 mph. Frightful later achieved 240 mph during another dive.
