Video: Bactrian Camel Birth at Cincinnati Zoo
Posted on April 29, 2012
A Bactrian camel was born at the Cincinnati Zoo. The baby was able to walk the same day it fell out of Saarai, its mother.
The zoo says the calf was born at 3:15 pm and first attempted to stand forty-five minutes later. Bactrian camels, which inhabit deserts of Central and East Asia, are two-humped camels that can weigh up to 1,800 lbs.
